Many people head to Gozo for a much-deserved break, especially during summer. We are often asked which are the best places to stop for a coffee in Gozo. Of course, we have our favourites and will share them with you for your next visit.

Coffee Break Cafe & Bistro

You’ve seen a lot of posts from Coffee Break Gozo on our feed. Coffee Break is opposite the Victoria Playground, Triq Taħt Putirjal, Victoria. We keep returning to Coffee Break almost every time we are in Gozo.

When we visit, we particularly enjoy their flavoured cappuccinos or smoothies. You must also try the butter rolls, normally served with generous amounts of pistachio cream, hazelnut cream, and crushed pistachio! Plenty of delicious lunch and dinner options are available if you're feeling hungry!

We quite like the pasta dishes and the duck salad!

Black Cat Cafe

Black Cat Cafe is a gorgeous little cafeteria in the heart of Gozo. It is one of the cutest places we have visited on the island. Situated in front of the Vajringa Library in Victoria (Vajringa Street), this cafeteria offers many coffee and tea options, as well as various brunch options and treats.

We love visiting for their lattes, such as the Beetroot, Cacao (yum!), and bagels! They currently have an iced raspberry chai. We recommend booking beforehand to avoid disappointment because it is quite popular with visitors and the locals.

Tapies Bar

Tapies Bar is one of the first things that come to mind when considering Gozo cafes. If you are looking for a proper place to the Gozitan / Maltese identity, look no further than Tapies. Almost everyone you meet is familiar with this iconic bar.

It is best known for its coffee, tea, and beer, which you should combine with a couple (or more) of pastizzi. Locals mostly frequent the original Tapies Cafe. Expect to hear some interesting stories from the friendly locals when you are there.

You can find the original Tapies in St Francis Square and another Tapies Bar in St George Square. For a sneak peek, have a look at these photos taken by the popular page Kappa Vision.

Cafe Jubilee

Cafe Jubilee needs no introduction due to its popularity around the islands. It boasts outlets in Malta and Gozo.

Take advantage of the local produce sold at the cafe, such as honey, coffee, oils, vinegar, krustini, wines, and Nanna’s ravioli. We recommend choosing a coffee and one of their delicious sandwiches or Nanna’s homemade ravioli.

Sit in Independence Square, Victoria, opposite Cafe Jubilee, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere.
