The Magic of NOVI Dark Chocolate

The choice of chocolate is paramount in creating the perfect brownie. For this recipe, we're using NOVI Dark Chocolate.

This isn't just any chocolate; it's a premium choice known for its rich and intense cocoa flavour. When melted and blended into our brownie mix, it ensures a deep, luxurious, unmistakably dark chocolate taste.

The Perfect Blend of Ingredients

But what's a brownie without its supporting cast? The butter adds a creamy richness, while the sugar ensures that our treat is sweet but not overwhelmingly so.

Eggs provide structure and moisture, ensuring our brownies are soft and fudgy, not dry and crumbly. And let's not forget the vanilla extract, which adds a subtle aromatic touch that complements the robustness of the dark chocolate.

A Twist in the Tale: NOVI Milk Chocolate and Toppings

Just when you thought our brownies couldn't get any better, we introduce a second layer of chocolatey goodness. NOVI milk chocolate, with its creamy and sweet profile, offers a delightful contrast to the intense dark chocolate base.

And for the pièce de résistance? A sprinkle of Werther's Caramel Popcorn with Pretzels. This adds a crunchy texture and a salty-sweet flavour, elevating our brownies to a gourmet level.

One dark chocolate brownie served

Ingredients you'll need

260 grams NOVI Dark Chocolate, chopped

8 tablespoons (1 stick/120 grams) butter

200 grams sugar

4 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons (130 grams) all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

170 grams NOVI milk chocolate, chopped

1/4 cup pistachios, slivered

1 packet Werther's Caramel Popcorn with Pretzels

The Method: how to make dark chocolate brownies

Start by positioning a rack in the centre of your oven. Preheat it to 180°C. Take an 8-inch square tin, grease it with butter, and line its base and sides with baking paper.

This ensures easy removal of our brownies later on.

Melting Magic:

In a bowl, gently melt the butter and NOVI Dark Chocolate over a pot of simmering water. Once melted, allow it to cool down to room temperature.

This ensures the chocolate doesn't seize when other ingredients are added.

To our cooled chocolate mixture, stir in the sugar. Then, incorporate the eggs one by one, ensuring each is well combined before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla essence for that aromatic touch.

Gently fold in the flour and salt, ensuring you don't overmix.

Transfer this luscious batter into your prepared tin, levelling the top with a spatula. Pop it into the oven and bake for about 30 minutes.

Once done, let it cool down completely.

Finishing Touches:

Melt the NOVI milk chocolate using the same method. Let it cool slightly, then pour it over our brownie base.

Smooth it out and sprinkle over the Werther's Caramel Popcorn with Pretzels while it's still tacky.

Refrigerate until the milk chocolate layer sets. Serve chilled for the best experience.
